Director Morgan Spurlock takes a hilarious and often terrifying look at the effects of fast food on the human body, using himself as the proverbial guinea pig. For one month, Spurlock eats nothing but McDonald’s fare.

In 2003 Morgan Spurlock embarked on a 30 day experiment, to find out what effect eating nothing but McDonald’s would have on his above averagely fit body. His journey is closely monitored by a team of physicians, a nutritionist and a personal trainer who all try to estimate at the start what the result of the ‘McDiet’ will be.
Morgan sets himself a few rules for the month, including:
- If and only if asked he must super size his meal
- He must eat every item on the menu at least once
- He must finish every meal
- He can only consume items on the menu at McDonald’s including bottled water.
This documentary is an interesting insight into the fast food culture of the modern world, whilst focusing on the U.S.A. some of the points raised are equally important right here in the U.K. Although as this film is 11 years old the nutritional information about some of the meals he eats may not now be accurate.
