Why did you want to watch the film?
Because my brother decided we were watching it. I’ll watch anything.

What was it about? (may contain spoilers)
It was about a dog called Pudsey that ran away from working in a film. These people found him but they weren’t allowed to keep him so they gave him to a lady but he didn’t like how the lady treated him so he ran away back to the other people and hid in a van because they were moving house. In the new house it was all dirty and the curtains was all broken so the children had to tidy it up and they had a big farm. The naughty man was going to knock the farm down to make a shopping place and a car park but Pudsey found out and warned the family so it didn’t happen.

Did you like it?
Yeah, it was funny.

Which part did you like the best?
The bit when the baker’s face bashed into the largest pie. It was really funny.

Which part did you like the least?
The bit when the naughty man broke into the house because it was a bit scary.

Would you want to watch it again and why?
Yeah, it was good. Very good indeed.

Parent’s notes:
It’s a dog. That can ‘dance’. Simon Cowell clearly wanted to cash in on this slightly different winner of Britain’s Got Talent and this is how he did it. The film itself is actually quite good – it’s a fairly typical family film whereby the kids and their adopted dog save the local village from the ruthless plans of the local evildoer. There’s a nice amount of childhood romance thrown in, a suitable number of talking animals, various dog-based shenanigans and a feel-good aspect about the family gelling together. It’s fun to watch and the story is relatively easy for younger viewers to follow. As an adult, the only thing that annoyed me was the fact that the star of the film seemed to do his ‘trick’ a few too many times. Yes, we know he won BGT by standing on his back legs and looking like he was dancing (and let’s be honest that’s the only reason why anyone is actually watching this film) but there were far too many instances of this so-called dancing for one film… Still, it’s worth a watch with the little ones.
